92% 30/34

By March 16, 202111 Comments

It has been a great first season for Future Snow. We are presently 92% accurate beyond model range. We have hacked the weather and long range forecasting will never be the same. Now you will be able to plan a ski or snowboard trip months in advance and be confident you will have fresh snow. This lass storm that hit Colorado was officially 43 days in advance, but if you saw my post on the Colorado Daily Snow Jan 10th it was more than 2 months in advance.

Eldora off the chart!

Thanks for making FutureSnow a success and as always if you have any questions please ask in the comments below or send me an email to Mike@FutureSnow.CO.

Any more pattern storms in CO this month?

    • Mike Holm says:

There are 2 storms at the end of the month. Should be a good week 26-31st. GFS confirms so far.

Awesome, let’s hope this falls into your 90% accuracy 😉 Thanks for all content and taking on this challenge!

Awesome! Its been cool to follow your predictions through the year. I see that CO is getting snow this Sun-Wed as well. Trying to decide when to take my next/last trip.

Hey Mike, thanks for all your work! How’s Tahoe looking for the last week of March/first week of April? Trying to plan a trip around April 1st.

    • Mike Holm says:

There are no pattern storms for Tahoe that time period and the GFS shows no snow—so far. There is a pattern storm that takes more of a northern track that if if gets stronger, it could grow into that area. That happened last cycle on the dates your going and squaw got 20 and Heavenly 13. Fingers crossed.

In Telluride arriving Saturday 27th-Sunday April 4th. Should we maybe arrive a little earlier?

    • Mike Holm says:

I don’t think you need to arrive any earlier. Timing is just about perfect. There should be a smaller wave before the one on the 27th begins. So snow should be fresh as long as the temps are good. Temps look favorable right now, still a long way off though. Love Telluride, hike the peak if it’s open and hit the spiral stairs if you like bumps!

The sooner the better Freddy. Temps are good for at least a couple of weeks. Remember the inactive stretch is coming up around April 8th. Best time to go is next couple of weeks. There will be a good storm in April sometime but I wouldn’t count on it. Good luck!
