It’s good to see some snow on the snow stakes again.

Pattern Discussion
We have storms rolling thru Canada and the Pacific Northwest today thru Monday that will track along the US/Canada border hitting British Columbia and Alberta resorts and US resorts in the Pacific Northwest, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming.
A small wave from this system will dive south and give Colorado some fresh snow. The trend is not our friend with this one as it is getting worse as we draw nearer. Remember, this storm did not hit the last time thru, it missed north, and I did not project this storm for the Long-Range Prediction.
The highest totals, as of now will fall at Vail/Beaver Creek, Winter Park in the northern mountains where I think it’ll be in the 3-6 neighborhood. Thats pretty optimistic as of now, with Summit Co and divide resorts in the 1-3 range.
Utah is trending in the wrong direction, but again, this storm missed last time thru. Maybe 1-3 for the Cottonwood resorts, we’ll see.
The next storm system hits the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia on Thursday and will take a track that has been favorable for Utah and Colorado, but is suddenly in peril, unless the models change their direction.
It looks like it could miss, but it should come thru, unless the cycle length is wrong. The latest run from the GFS has the energy splitting off and tracking into Baja California with the main energy flowing above Utah and Colorado. See Below
This begs the question as to the length of the cycle. Could it be one harmonic longer than I have thought? Essentially 6 more days? If this is truly a longer cycle, similar to the 2021-22 pattern year of 64 days, it takes a very long time to verify. If that is true, then the predictions would be 6-days off.
It’s not panic time yet.
