Forecast Discussion
Spring is still delayed with another shot of snow coming from the Pacific Northwest. That system will reach Utah by tonight, but not much is expected with the first wave, about a tenth of an inch of liquid water equivalent (LWE)– 1-3 possible of snow. The second wave will deliver about a quarter of an inch of LWE for 3-5 inches of snow. This should set Alta over the 900 mark, although I’m not sure they will count this as the resort is closed. I will put a call in today to check the status of uphill availability. Snowbird, Solitude and Park City are open.
In Colorado, we will have scattered snow showers today until the Utah system reaches Colorado tonight. Breckenridge, Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain, Winter Park and Loveland are open. Expect an inch or two today with 3-5 throughout the day tomorrow. Heavy snow tomorrow night with a nice powder day likely for Wednesday.
Temperatures start out warm today and tomorrow, highs will be in the mid 40’s today and low 40’s tomorrow at base level, but overnight Tuesday will drop in the low 20’s. Below is the 2 meter temperature chart thru Wednesday.
