Forecast

Snow today in Lake Tahoe, Utah and Colorado resorts as we get rolling and have officially confirmed snowflakes are flying at Palisades.  It has been 20 days since measurable snow at Palisades, Heavenly reported 4″ 18 days ago, but either timeframe seems like an eternity.   This same thing occurred last cycle, November 27th thru December 13th (16 days).  Our predicted Tahoe storm is 2 days late and hits with very similar conditions.

Utah

Light snow showers today will bring an additional 3-6 inches for Alta, Snowbird, Brighton and maybe Solitude with scattered snow showers tonight.  Should be a nice day on the hill with light winds and temperatures slightly on the cold side, high of 21.

Colorado

More snow is on the way for the northern, central and divide resorts with snow totals in the 2-4 range for most resorts.  The models have reversed course on the southern mountain snowfall, so now we’ll have to pin our hopes on the cut-off system, that we have been talking about.  It is running a little late and looks like it’ll hit between Monday night or as late as Wednesday evening.

Lake Tahoe

This storm is still on track and looks to favor Heavenly, Mammoth and maybe Mt Rose.  Forecast totals should be in the 6-10 range for the aforementioned resorts with most other resorts in the 2-4 range.  The next storm arrives around the 1st of the month and that should be a good storm as we return to the Pacific Flow pattern.
