Snow Stake Cams…..Coming Soon Snow Stake Page
Powder Alert Eldora. Eldora the huge winner, by far, with today’s totals–14 and counting. The snow has pretty much moved out of the west and will move out of the divide and foothills by early this morning. It is hard to tell how much snow Utah resorts received, but you can kind of get a sense by Alta’s before and after. It looks like their snow stake blew off overnight. Judging by the snow at the base of the stake I’d say 6-10.
Updated Long-Range Forecast Predictions
We have a glitch with our predictions google file, we are working to fix it and get it updated. Below is a screenshot.
Pacific Northwest 3 Big Storms thru Wednesday
Partly sunny skies today and cold temperatures as the next system moves in tonight around lift closure. This is a relatively quick moving wave that will hit Oregon and Washington simultaneously. Expect 2-4 before the lifts turn on Friday, but there is a catch. Friday looks to be nasty with freezing rain that could spoil the snow at lower elevations. Right now, it’s looking like the freezing rain will hold off until noon.
Storm 2 hits early Sunday and Storm 3 arrives Monday.
Next System Friday
Lingering snow possible before 10 with clearing skies by noon, turning partly sunny. Cold, with temps in the single digits with strong winds early, and moderate winds in the afternoon. Windchills in the negative single digits.
Storm History, Last cycle, Snowbird 16 Alta 15 and Park City 13
Next System Friday
The storm moves out this morning. High temps in the 10’s with windchills in the negative to -10 range. Strong wind gusts around 35 mph.
Storm History, Last cycle, Breckenridge 14, Vail 13, Beaver Creek 12, Steamboat 9, Aspen 8
Next, Small Wave Friday
