Forecast Summary

We have heavy snow today in the Sierra and Utah today, as the current storm works its way East.  This next storm, hitting California today, last time through was January 4th.  On New Years Day, Gary talked about that storm, you may recall the huge comma head off the coast.  You can find that blog post here.

The last time this storm came through it dumped 33 at Kirkwood, 20 at Heavenly and 19 at Palisades.  This time through, it has a little more moisture and will likely double the totals..  We expect the totals to be between 2-5 feet.

Strongest part of the storm with 2-3 feet expected by Saturday morning for the blue boxed resorts below on the snowfall graphic.  Strong winds for your Friday, 20-30 mph with 40 mph gusts.  Upper mountains wind gusts in the 50’s and 60’s.
