Heavy Snow at Kirkwood

Storm Summary
The current system is working its way through Lake Tahoe today and tonight and will reach Utah resorts by midday. It is moving towards Colorado but is losing steam. Not much is expected for Colorado this time thru, maybe 1-3 for the northern resorts, if we’re lucky.
Utah
The storm moves into Utah late this morning or early afternoon. The only thing that I am changing for this forecast is the timing. It still looks like the storm will bring another 6-12 for the Cottonwood resorts by Saturday. The system should be out of the area by Saturday afternoon.
Snowbird is open to uphill and will open for the season on November 28th (Thanksgiving).
Lake Tahoe
Heavy snow is falling at Kirkwood as of this post, and I expect the snow to continue throughout the day today with 4-8 likely for resorts along the Crest–Kirkwood, Palisades and Sugar Bowl. All resorts above 7000 ft will see snow, at least in the 2-4 range with temps cold enough for snowmaking.

Upcoming Storms on the European Ensemble Model
The next two storms are pretty much a lock, but they are not very strong, especially for Colorado. The storms that are showing up on the Euro Ensemble runs for next week, are less certain. It looks like we will get a storm around Monday the 25th.
Looking at the long-range test predictions, the Nov 22nd storm has bounced around on the models. It was running 2 days early, then it was on time, now its 2 days early again and weak. We are just about ready to release our next set of predictions, as the December 3rd predicted storm is just getting into model range. Stay tuned.
