Sunday

Heavy snow throughout the day as operations could be affected by the storm, always check the resort website before you go to make sure they are open.  Temperatures will stay around 20 throughout the day tomorrow. Winds will be strong, as usual for a storm like this.  Base level gust in the 50 range with ridge top winds in the 80’s, so upper mountain lifts are likely a no-go.  Monday will be a nice day to hit those spots.

Snow totals below are from yesterday.  They are still looking pretty good, although I think the Mammoth totals are a little on the low end.

Snow Total Chart from Yesterday

Utah,

Today, Snow begins around 8.  It will be pretty windy as the front approaches, expect winds to be between 20-30 mph with gusts around 45 mph.

Monday, Snow throughout the day with light to moderate winds between 10-15 mph.  Temp in the teens with wind chills near zero.

Colorado

Storm arrives tonight and it hasn’t changed much from yesterday. Generally, the models are predicting 2-4 from Powderhorn in the West to Steamboat north, A-Basin east and Telluride south.  History tells us that the models under predict totals.

Steamboat will get double the total, so we will go with 4-6 for the Boat, and 3-5 for Vail/Beaver CreekWolf Creek does pretty well with this set up, so we will up the number for them, let’s go with 6-10.  Finally, 3-5 for Crested Butte with everyplace else likely in the 2-4 range.

Monday

Snow continues throughout the day with temperatures in the middle 20’s and winds 10-15 mph for the northern and central mountains, with stronger winds along divide.
